IBM is selling its weather unit, which includes The Weather Channel app and websites, to private equity firm Francisco Partners. The deal is expected to close by April and aligns with IBM's strategy to focus on AI, software, and cloud services. IBM will retain access to the weather data for its sustainability software business.
