Dan Ackerman, Editor-in-Chief at Gizmodo, has sued Apple and others over copyright infringement in the 2023 film Tetris, which is based on his 2016 book "The Tetris Effect". Ackerman's lawsuit alleges that Apple and others created a feature film based on his book without his permission. He also claims to have reached out to the company before the film's release but received no response. Ackerman is seeking damages equaling at least 6% of the film's $80 million production budget.
